Delta Chi National History

On October 13, 1890 eleven law students at Cornell University formed a Law Fraternity, Delta Chi. In 1922, the Fraternity officially went "general", thus opening its membership to men in all areas of study. Delta Chi, in 1929, became the first fraternity to officially abolish the hazing practices associated with "hell week". The original founders joined together and believed "great advantages are to be derived from a brotherhood of college and university men". These same beliefs hold true for Delta Chi today and forever.

There are 123 chapters and colonies operating throughout the United States and Canada. Distribution is fairly even across the continent. Delta Chi has over 74,000 initiates. These include successful politicians, sports figures, actors, military leaders, and an abundance of affluent business and industry leaders.

The colors of the fraternity are red and buff. The flower is the white carnation. More facts and a very in-depth history is available here.
