It also gives them a chance to ask any questions concerning dates, membership, choreographing, the DAS show or dance classes. Members who would like to take care of dues can pay cash, or pay by check by making them out to DANCE ARTS SOCIETY.

Being in the DAS Show

DAS members also have the opportunity to choreograph and perform in the DAS show, Curtain Call, at the end of each semester. The show is composed of dances  of all genres and levels. Members can audition for as many pieces as they'd like, but can be in no more than four dances in the show. Each dance you choose to audition for will have weekly rehearsals until the final audition for the show at Third Showing.

Here is how it works:

First Showing

All members wanting to choreograph for or dance in the DAS Show need to be at First Showing. Choreographers will get up and state the music, genre, number of dancers needed and level of their piece. They will give the time and location of their audition.

After all choreographers have announced their information members can sign up for the pieces they wish to audition for.  These lists will be given to the choreographer who will notify/remind auditioning members of any expectations or changes for the audition.

This semester's First Showing, scheduled for Tuesday, September 11th, will begin at 9:00 pm in GRW 256.

Third Showing

Members audition their dance for the DAS Curtain Call show. Each dance will perform in front of the DAS officers and advisors. All dances need to be completed, cleaned, and performance ready. Results are posted on the website and on the GRW Bulletin Board.

This semester's Third Showing is scheduled for Tuesday, October 30th and will begin at 7:00 pm. Location TBA.

Second Showing

Second Showing gives choreographers and their dancers a chance to perform what they have learned of their piece for members to critique. Members, officers, and advisors critique pieces and give feedback to choreographers. Dues are due by Second Showing. Those who fail to pay dues by the end of Second Showing will not perform in the DAS Curtain Call.

This semester's 2nd showing is on Tuesday, October 9th at 9pm in GRW 256.

DAS Curtain Call

The Dance Arts Society Curtain Call Show is performed once at the end of each semester. DAS members that audition and make the show will attend run through, all tech and dress rehearsals, and will perform in the show.

This semester's Fall Curtain Call, scheduled for Sunday, November 11th, will begin at 2:00 pm in the Bryan Civic Auditorium.
